Hey everyone,
I just got back from my uro/gyno and I was told that I have vulvar vestibulitis. Currently, I am on my period and the flare has calmed down a TON. The week prior to my period has been hell. However, I am realizing that the major pain that I think I am having is not so much from IC (I have that as well) but from Vulvar Vestibulitis. It feels like needles are in my vaginal area and they are poking around that whole vulva region. Sometimes it hurts to walk and my whole area is just in so much pain. I have to put ice to numb it. I have been given lidocaine and steroid cream, however, I am thinking of trying to use Elavil or a trycyclic antidepressant at a low dose for pain.
Has anyone with VV had any l uck w/ this? I know a lot of people here who have IC and VV take Elavil (anatriptyline) ?
What about Pamelor? (nortriptyline)
If anyone can give feedback on these kinds of drugs I would really appreciate it!
Love,
Christina
