Any of you have any experience dying fabrics? I splattered bleach on my olive green linen skirt and was wondering if I could try to dye the bleached spots. I was thinking of trying to spot dye it using some of the Rit dyes. I'm thinking I could combine tan and dark green to get a color they call Khaki green.
It's a bummer since it's once of my favorite and IC friendly skirts.

Well, I have no experience with this Amaris... but if it works, let me know! I have some clothes that got splattered with bleach in the lab while disinfecting tissue culture flasks before disposal, and I would REALLY love to know if the RIT dye works :)

I used a fabric marker on a denim skirt that got a bleach spot on it accidentally. I bought a blue close to the color, wet the material slightly and started in the middle of the spot and let it bleed out the edges and then I blotted it. I think after that I ironed it to heat set it, and after it was washed it looked great...didn't look like a colored in spot.

Just a suggestion, but you might consider bleaching the entire skirt, they dye it the color you want. It's very difficult to match colors to dye just a few spots.
Let me know what you come up with.

I thought about bleaching it first, but worried that it may weaken the linen. The other thought I had was to try to dye the whole thing darker green. Hmm....
