For ICN newbies, Diane Manhattan was one of the most quietly, yet firmly helpful and hopeful people on this site. She helped me to start it years ago and worked tirelessly to keep it going. We sadly lost her last year to pneumonia at the age of 41. Here's a note that I just received from her sister Elaine. I thought that some of you who were close to Diane would appreciate reading this.

Hi, My name is Elaine Manhattan Fuchs, you might recognize the Manhattan because this is Diane's Twin sister. Diane has been gone `11 months and I miss her so much. I thought that looking on this web site would bring her back to me for just a while. I was so glad Jill that you have remembered her in many announcements. Diane had a collection of Precious moments and many were left to me. Today I was able to look at them and put them in my new home.
I just want you all to know that she loved every one of you guys and talked of this site forever. I dont know if she knows how much she was loved by each of you but I do know while she was alive she absolutely knew the love that surrounded her. Thank you so much for loving her.
Jill the many condolences that were sent to Diane's Memorial were read out loud by Diane's brother in law Richard. People came to me afterward having no idea about this terrible illness that Diane and all of you face day to day. It was an honor to tell the story of this network to the countless people who were unaware of this website and was shocked to learn that Diane's relatives had no idea she was so sick.
Diane didn't brag about her involvement with this she just stayed in her work room and helped so many people. I should have written this message many months ago, but grace be to God, he is healing the pain of the terrible loss of my beloved sister. Thank you again Jill for keeping Diane's memory alive in this wonderful forum you share with thousands of people across the globe. DIANE WOULD BE SO PROUD.
love Elaine

And Diane would be so proud of each and every moderator, IC patient and friend who has taken a moment out of their day to help someone else in need. I'm really proud of you too.
Jill :)
