I was just diagnosed with IC. I also have autoimmune thyroid problems. I went to the eye doc this week because my eyes were bothering me. I have dry eyes. I have not started any meds for my IC. I started to wonder if I could have that Sjogrens syndrome. Just what I would need. There is an increased risk of lymphoma too. I guess I read too much. I am a nervous wreck. i think I will go to bed now.
I hope you got some rest. {{HUGS**** I'd ask your doctor about the dry eyes and see what he or she thinks.

I have a few eye attacks as I call them thought that it was pink eye, now my dr is now leaning towards Sjogrens syndrome... It is common with IC from what I understand... sending hugs

People with fibromyalgia have a greater incidnece of scleritis and episcleritis. It can be much more serious then just pink eye so make sure you tell them if you have fibo (not sure on IC). Artificial tears are great at this time of year (allergy time). Just be sure to use the preservative free ones. they have thicker gels or ointments for night use if you do have sjogren's (which can be drug induced too). Remeber if you do have sjogrens to use the special tooth paste and mouthrinse for dry mouth. It can really wreak your teeth.
Good luck. It's not something anyone wants to add to their list ok "I GOTS"

There is a connection between sjogrens and IC. I did not know it could be drug induced also. Many of the drugs we take for IC and allergies can dry out eyes and mouth. My dentist warned me about the tooth decay and gum disease when I saw him last month. Great to add another concern to my already full plate.

I have been having problems with my eyes being really dry(probably from the meds?) and my eye dr wants to put plugs in my eyes to help me to tear. Anybody else have this done? The dry eyes are causing me to have eye problems where everything is a blurr even with glasses on. Nuts! :dizzy:
