Feeling really bad today...and we are having friends over

It was really bad this morning. I took a warm bath and then a long nap. When i woke up, i felt a lot better, but its all coming back again. Early this morning when i got up to urinate, the urine was cloudy and darker than normal and smelled really odd. A couple hours later i was having intense urethral burning while i was peeing as well as when i wasnt. I was also having urgency, even though I knew i didnt have to go. Does this sound like a UTI? I have had UTIs before, but never with the cloudy and smelly urine. Im just really upset that this is happening today, because all of our friends are coming over.

It does sound like it might be infection. I suggest you have it checked out.

I would definitely have it checked out. Cloudy, odd smelling urine usually indicates an infection is going on.

I must agree with everyone else... have that checked out ASAP. Go to an urgent care clinic or the ER if you need to because it's a holiday weekend. Other than that, can you take a Pyridium and/or pain pill so you can get through the day/evening with company? I hope so. I know it's difficult to have company when you feel lousy --- however, sometimes the company can help distract you from how horrible you feel, and it ends up being a good thing :) Just make sure your boyfriend & other close friends help you out -- they can help with last minute cooking or cleaning up. It's not rude to ask nicely for a little help, especially if you explain you're not feeling well --- most people will be so impressed that you had them over despite being sick they'll gladly help out :)

You know what you know your body. If this symptom is totally different from any symptoms before than I would have it checked out. I KNOW when it is a UTI and when it is just a terrible flare. However, I have been dealing with this disease forever.

well, i survived! I still wasnt feeling well, but you guys were right, once i had a distraction, i felt a lot better... thanks!
