:hi: :welcome: So glad you found us.

No, you are not alone. There are a bunch of very understanding and helpful people here at ICN. Do spend some time in the ICN Patient Handbook. Use the link that Kelly posted. There is so much information there that wil helpl explain things and answer questions. Don't try to do it all at one time. It can be overwhelming. Take your time and go slowly. Knowledge is power...Become an informed member of your health team.

Do talk with your doctor about the symptoms you are having, along with the anxiety. IC can bring on anxiety because of the pain involved.

Hi and Welcome!

We all pretty much know that feeling of isolation from IC. I was so happy to find this site where there were others who understood what I'd been experiencing. I have to say it reduced my anxiety tremendously to find that I wasn't crazy after all! -I was beginning to wonder??! And the amount of information here has really allowed me to take better control of this disease. Many of us have been able to ease the severity of our symptoms by changing our diet, so please have a look at the IC diet!

Wishing you better days ahead!

Vicki

Hello there! I just wnated to add a welcome and offer a little advice. Take your time and look around the ICN because there is a lot of information that you can look into. Try not to let all of this overwhelm you and if it does get to you, don't let the guilt of it getting to you take over. One of the biggest problems of initially dealing with all of this is the sense of being overwhelmed and depression. Give yourself the time you need to adjust, kinda like a honeymoon period. Everyone here at the ICN is great and will help you as best as we can! Take care.

:welcome: to the ICN!! I'm so sorry that you have IC, but I'm definitely glad you found this site.

As for anxiety, speak to your doctor. There are many things you can do -- have you tried yoga, guided imagery, or just talk therapy with a therapist? These can be extremely helpful... AND certain types of yoga can stretch your pelvic muscles and help with your IC as well. :) Also, there are meds that can help. I take Klonopin for anxiety disorder/panic disorder, and will likely start Zoloft soon as well. They help, in addition to my talk therapy and yoga schedules. Please --- ASK FOR HELP. It's NOT a bad thing to do so, as I've discovered. there are many, many solutions.

You have every right to be upset and anxious... you've been diagnosed with a chronic disease. However, there is help out there :)

we are all here to support you :) keep posting and learning as much as you can about IC :)

Sorry you feel crazy I have that feeling a lot too. Prelief can help if you take it with food. I take Ativan for anxiety. I would ask your uro because sometimes different things even medicines and vitamins can irritate your bladder sometimes. There are a lot of things you can try to help with the IC like Elmiron (a bladder coater), Elivil, atarax, anyways a lot of different things. It really does depend on the person. Some things may work better for you and some won't. If you have a good doc you can figure out the best course to take until you find the right ones for you. Take care and I hope you will feel better soon.
