sex and ic

I have had IC for 14 years and sex has always caused it to act up or make me feel uncomfortable for a couple of days. Lately it has been painful, I feel like I am tearing inside and can feel pain in the rectum. I went to my gyn and he said everything looked normal, I know it is my bladder. I feel so bad for my husband but it just hurts so much lately. Does this happen to anyone and what can you do about it. Thank you so much!

Sex can be very painful for many ICers. Have you scrolled down and read the Romance and Sex forum further along down the main page? In that forum there are many, many ideas for how to ease the pain during and after intercourse... the posts there are very open and informative, and I encourage you to check it out :) :grouphug:

You are not alone with this....Jen gave you some great advise.....I find that resting the pelvic muscles and relaxing them with cold and heat before and after is extrememly helpful.
