Bloating

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this web-site and wonder why I haven't joined earlier...its great to know that you are not the only one out there. I love that you guys understand EXACTLY what I am going through...sometimes its hard because you don't wear the disease outside...sometimes I'm afraid that people (excluding my husband and family b/c they are WONDERFUL), but you know, the "outsiders" think "Oh whatever...walk it off...". I just want to thank everyone for sharing with me all that has worked for them.

I also have a question: Some days I feel SO BLOATED (especially on my right side) that I feel if I don't stop or relax I am going to explode!!! My pain/discomfort is always there, including lower backache. Has anyone ever felt like this before and if so are there any remedies to it whether it be meds or a warm bath etc....

Hi there! I have the exact same symptoms. My dr had me on vioxx before my insurance changed their policies. Fortunatly, elmiron has taken care of most of the inflamation. When things get bad I use a heating pad and an antiinflamatory like ibuprophen. I also just try to relax, flexeril are grat for that. There are some great threads here that offer more ideas if you have time to dig around a little. Good luck!

:dizzy: Many of us get IC Belly. It looks like you're pregnant & very common with IC. A flare makes it worse for me. :mad: Feel better soon, Kathi

Yes! It helped a lot. Vioxx is more commonly prescribed for people who suffer from arthritis. It is great for swelling, inflamation, and ok in helping with the pain and discomfort. I think that it all depends on your symptom levels and other medications. Hope this helps.

Thanks Jen for your response, last night I took a Vioxx for the first time and wow!!!! it relaxed me, my bladder felt like it was resting for the first time in a long time...I'm still a little sore today, but nothing like yesterday...I also used a heating pad, which at first was making my symptoms worse, but then they seemed to get better...

LMAO, I had to stop wearing jeans and stock my closet with elastic waisted skirts! My belly doesn't know it is a full size larger than the rest of me :toilet: !

i get those exact same symptoms... my right side bloats up and i feel like i have gained a good 10 pounds in a day, but only on my right side...and it is usually gone by the next day....and my lower back hurts all the time.

I get bloating from time to time (I think its from elavil) and I have been drinking a glass with metamucil every day. it helps.

Hey I have the same thing!! When I'm bloated my right side hurts like crazy. I always have to go and lay down and relax. It's so annoying. My boyfriend and I can be out and when we go to dinner afterwards I feel so sick. I always end up with a huge stomach and extremely sharp pain in my right side. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one having that problem. I'm not sure what to do to try and fix it though. Usually if I rest for 30 min. or so I'm ok. Chelsey
