I know this is probably not IC related but I wanted to ask anyways... When I'm talking sometimes I feel like it is echoing in my head or it just sounds clouded in there or something. Also I am ichy all over and the swelling is really bad. I am on the pregnisone but if that doesn't help what will? Also I mentioned this somewhere else but the night sweats and hot flashes are horrible. I am 25 so I doubt it is menapause but if it is a perscription I'm on how will I know which one? The Ambian helps me to stay asleep throughout the night but my problem is getting to sleep. I can't seem to shut my mind off and relax enough to fall asleep. Just wondering does anyone else have this problem and what remedies do you use? It is hard because there are a lot of meds that I really need and can't cut out right now. Oh well anyways just thinking maybe you have a thought or two? Well hope you are all fairing better than me right now. I hope everyone has a good day. Take care - Chris :)

Hi Chris, I was wondering if you have allergies. I thought I remembered you posting about it before. I take allegra whenever I feel stuffy, that's when I have that swelling and echoing sound in my head when I talk. Also at night, I take 25mg elavil and it works great! Take care!

Please call the doc & ask which of the meds can cause these symptoms. How frustrating! :yikes:

I agree with Kathi! I too have the echoing sometimes with my allergies....but hot flashes should definatly be diagnosed.....you may need to see a doctor.

Also, if you can't sleep at night because your mind "won't shut off", have you thought about seeing a therapist/psychiatrist? That's a classic symptom of anxiety disorders (which, by the way, I just found out I have). You can take either things like Valium, Klonopin, Xanax... or you can take SSRI's like Zoloft or Paxil. You should definitely discuss the possibility with your doctor! It may not be that, but it's worth it to investigate...

I absolutely think you should discuss this problem with your doctor. There may be some alternatives to some of your medications if that's where your problem lies.

I also think seeing a therapist is good idea.

Warm healing thoughts,
Donna

Thanks you all. I have already been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and PTSS. I was on so manyh things before and it kindof got pushed on the back burner when I found out I had IC. Then my mind ofcourse was fixated on fixing that problem. I didn't think about it being the cause of my difficulty sleeping though. Funny huh? Well I guess that's one more app. on the already full scheduele I have already. You all are such a big help whether you realize it or not. I was really frieking out last night but I feel a little better today. I realize it's not the end of the world. I can get through this too.Just a question I take Impaprine at night instead of amutripyline could it be used for anxiety effectively instead of adding another med to my big list. Just wondering? I hope you all have a beautiful day today. Thanks again - Chris
