It is 3a pst and the pain is excrutiating. The burning is so bad-radiating into my stomach and my legs (when I have to walk somewhere). I don't know what to do anymore. The pain seems to be getting worse and worse. I have my period-lucky me, I get it every other week-so I know that it isn't helping matters. I took two demerol only to have it last 1 1/2 hours. What am I suppose to do? I just want to cry, close my eyes and pray that this all has just been a bad dream-all four years. I am 33 and I feel as if I am 103! I am so exhausted-work has been so busy-I work 40 hours a week and it feels like 80! On top of the pain, I am very nauseated. I have hardly been eating because the thought of it makes my stomach turn. My specialist told me that I am getting tired of the pain-it's not getting worse. Seriously, does he even have a clue? I go into his office in tears and this is what he says to me! My gp is great-I thank God for her. My body is so 'guarded' right now. There is no way to relax. I don't have any problems with frequency/urgency, but tonight I went to the bathroom and it took awhile for me to urinate and then it burned. I have never really had this happen before. Is this normal for IC patients?
Thank you for listening to me vent...I'm off to have a little cry and try and sleep.

God Bless all of us.

I'm sorry you are in so much pain this morning :( :grouphug:

If it "took a while" to urinate, and this is a new symptom for you, it's best to discuss it with your doctor. You could be beginning to retain urine -- that can be caused by flares of IC (happens to me all the time) but you might also have an infection setting up. You should probably have that checked out to be sure.

Good luck!! :grouphug: Feel better soon....

If having trouble peeing and having burning afterwards are new symptoms for you I would really, really suggest you get a urinalysis and culture to rule out infection. Burning afterwards is a sign for me that I have a UTI on top of my IC.

I hope you find some relief soon. :kissing:

I agree that it does sound like you may have infection.

And it could be pain medications causing the nausea --- be sure to discuss it with your doctor --- there are medications to take along with the pain meds to help avoid nausea. I know I have to take anti-nausea medication with pain pills. The one I take is Phenergan, 25 mg.

Warm hugs,
