I currently was experiencing what I thought was a I C flair up only to find that I had a UTI. Luckily I had a DR's appt.and found this out before I continued to experience any more discomfort. A few yrs. ago I was able to purchase UTI test kits at my pharmacy. They are no longer available. Does anyone know where I might purchase these kits? Thanks ART MOM

Usually you can get the kits at places like Walmart, Rite-Aid, Fred Meyer, Walgreens --- and even some grocery stores where they have pharmacies. Or you can order them from this site.

speaking of uti test kits, can anyone tell me why the tests are invalid if you are a vegetarian?

 Maybe something to do with protein? Is that one of the things the UTI dip test picks up on???

Found it:

Detection of nitrite in the urine is an early warning signal that further medical attention is needed.

False negative results can be caused by vegetarian diets providing insufficient nitrates.
