Hi all,
I am suffering from very bad clitoris pain at the moment. This has been a particular problem for about the last 3 months now, before this I would have the odd attack of it and it would settle quickly. I noticed a previous thread on this subject, but was wondering if anyone had any ideas/advice on what I could do to try and calm the pain.
I've seen my GP 3 times about this recently and she put me on 20mg of amitriptyline at night. I've been taking it for almost 4 weeks now.
The pain started up again saturday, and judging by recent attacks it'll last around a week. The pain seems to also go up into my lower stomach, and the usual need to urinate constantly is way worse with this pain.
I don't use anything but just plain water to wash with, so I know its not a reaction to any products.
I really don't know what to do, it's really starting to get to me. I just feel like screaming really.
Life's bad enough with the bladder troubles etc, without having this too. I'm not in a relationship at the moment, but now I'm beginning to feel that any intimate contact with anyone is going to be imposible.

If anyone has any idea's as to what I can try, I'd be really grateful.

For me the best idea is antacids ....calcium, baking soda with water, and other antacids. I hate that feeling ......I hope you feel better soon. Talk to your doctor...some doctors feel it is from other things and can try some meds. I hope you get the relief you need.

Ok, first of all I am not real comfortable getting this personal, but I wish that I knew then what I know now. :toosh: So here goes... OK, a few years ago I noticed clitoral pain and didn't know what to do about it. I had the pain for about 2 weeks with no other side effects, like vaginally or externally. So one day I got a mirror, pulled back the "hood" and took a look. To my surprise, there was this whiteish film all over the clitoral area. I took a shower and used a q-tip to clean it away. Immediately I had relief and within a day or two the pain and swelling went away completely. Since then I try to make it a part of my normal hygene routine and have found the "film" there only a few more times. it could be bacteria, yeast or something. Of course, consult your dr if you feel it's necessary. Good luck.

Thank you for your reply jen dahling, especially since it is a very personal subject.
I have tried pretty much what you said, and cleaning the area with a cotton bud dipped in water (not sure but I think q-tips might be what we call cotton buds here). Unfortunately I've found just doing that sets off an attack which lasts getting on for a week.
I first questioned doctors on it a little over a year back, but unfortunately that doctor was extremly unhelpful and gave no advice or reason what so ever.
But my GP examined me etc and said she didn't think there was an sign of an infection. So first she gave me a steriod type cream and told me to take ibrupohen. The steriod cream unfortunately just burned like crazy, so I couldn't use it. Then I tried (off my own back) lignocaine. Again that just burned like crazy. So she put me on the amitriptyline. Last time I saw her about it, she said if the amitriptyline didn't work she didn't know what else to try. So since it appears its not working, least not as well as I would hope, I'm at a complete loss as to what to do.

:grouphug: Sorry, I hope you can find a way to get some relief soon. Maybe someone else will post another idea. Good luck.

http://www.akpharma.com/prelief/acid_reduction.html

Ibuprofen is acidic. For me if my clit hurts it is because of pressure or pain from my urethra...since my clit is so sensitive it can hurt instead sometimes but I assume the cause is still there....so I treat them the same.....but when antacids don't help turn to your doc. Hope you feel better soon.
