reaction to monistat/vagistat? does it cause flares?

I think I am going through a terrible flare now despite being on antibiotics for an infection-- I don't always like to use Diflucan and was curious whether anyone had ever had a reaction to using a vaginal cream/ointment for a yeast infection. I used one and I swear it made my symptoms worse? Any experiences? or is it not recommended to use them? Thanks for any help. liz

I can't say whether I have had a reaction to the medication, but in general when I have had a yeast infection I have had more bladder symptoms. So if that makes sense, it could be the infection as much as the treatment for me.
