I was wondering if anyone out there has tried blackberries? They are not listed on the IC diet at all, and I can't find any info on the internet about their acid level. I tried some blackberry jam that was home made no preservatives awhile back and didn't have a problem..but then again I only ate a little. Also-Maneschewitz makes a blackberry wine that is just blackberries, sugar and water. I'm sure this is a big no-no but if anyone has tried that please let me know. I LOVE this wine and am thinking of trying a glass at Thanksgiving or Christmas. That is..if I can get up the nerve. This is a very sweet dessert-y type wine. I will probably take a zillion preliefs first if I even try it. :lmao: Thanks-

Jeannie,
Blackberry wine is the only one that I am able to drink. I have a glass every once and a while and do fine. I have not drank it on a regular basis likely nightly, but occassionally I do fine with it.

I eat blackberries with no problem. We live in the country and have some growing wild on the back of our property. I've found that if I put them in the blender I can strain out the seeds --- I then sweeten the pulp with Splenda and add some Knox gelatin. It makes a lovely dessert. I use three envelopes of gelatin to about three cups of berry pulp. It sets like Jello, but doesn't have the acid. And cool whip or whipped cream makes it really delicious!

I too can eat blackberries. They have never given me a problem. I can also eat raspberries, I recently discovered!! Yay!!!!!! :) :) :D And of course, blueberries are good too.
This part of the IC diet is fine with me, as I prefer these three berries to citrus fruits anyway. :)
