View Full Version : prelief betty you might know this answer!
i live in the uk and my dad is going to visit relatives in canada and america next month, i was thinking of asking him to stock up on prelief while he's over there, and perhaps some Pyridium too as i've never tried that. is it pretty easy to find as he's never been there before (he's going to detriot in america), what kind of place sells it, pharmacists or grocery stores? do most places sell it in the large 200 bottles?
also would there be any problem bringing it back over here? i know it's not a "drug" as such, but if he was buying a fair amount of it would he get any questions asked? is there any other supplements besides Pyridium and Prelief I could also get him to look out for?
I'm not Betty, but....
The only store in California where I have consistently seen Prelief on the shelf is Walgreens. It is usually located in the antacid section, although in one store it was next to the BEANO.
Betty can probably answer your other questions:)

Dear Linz:
Prelief is not available in the UK or Canada. Prelief is available throughout the US; in the area of Detroit, Prelief should be on the shelf in the antacid aisle at all Walgreen pharmacies, Shopko pharmacies, RiteAid pharmacies and Meijer stores. They all carry Prelief 120 tablet size. If your father cannot locate Prelief when he visits these stores, he must ask for the Store Manager (not the pharmacist). Prelief is an OTC product and it is the Store Manager who stocks and orders the OTC products and who will locate it for him. If he has any problem, he can call our hotline (1-800-994-4711) and we will help.
Unfortunately I cannot tell you whether you will have a problem bringing a large amount into the UK. We have no control over customs and
occasionally the consumer does have to pay duties.
Hope this is helpful.....

I live close to Detroit, I found it at a store called Meijer, right near the antacids. Your dad can ask the pharmacist and he can point it out to him if he needs help finding it. Pyridium however is a prescription, but, there is an OTC one called Azo which does the same thing, just in a lower dose. Just about any drugstore around here has that. I don't know anything about taking it overseas though.

I'm also in the detroit area. Meijer and Walgreens are two places that carry it most often. Meijer is the cheapest - about 8 something in US dollars for a 120 count bottle. Some Walgreens can't keep it in stock, but the pharmacist can order it and usually have it in a day. Sam's Club is a membership warehouse. For the first time, I had the pharmacist there order some for me. It took less then a day for them to get it and I think it's like $7.49 or something like that which is cheaper then Meijers. I hope this info helps.
Take Care!

We had difficulty finding it recently too....and than found it was next to Beano instead of anacids .....and that the stores changed in our state...look at the list on Prelief's site as to the state they are located when your Dad comes to the US.
