It seems many of us are always trying to figure out how we got I.C. From what I've been reading here, one the the theories is that it develops after abdominal surgeries. I've read this mostly from women who had hysterectomys, but I wonder if we could run a "poll" to see how many of us have had abdominal surgeries including cesarean sections.
I had a c-section 19 years ago, but never had any symptoms of IC until I started peri-menopause at age 50, but I still wonder if there is a connection. From what I've read about cesarean section, the bladder is moved out of the way to facilitate the birth. I'm not sure how this is done, but I wonder if it could cause problems later in life, like it has for me.
I have also contacted The International Cesearean Awareness Network. (ICAN). I used to have close connections with them when planning a vaginal birth after my cesarean. So it's possible they may have some insight on this topic. If so, I'll let you know.
