When we moved out here to CA, I was not able to bring my animals...:( I have a 4-yr old Sun Conure named Baby that I got when he was 3 weeks old and two 3-yr-old black pomeranians: Coco & Puff. I couldn't bring them with us because none of them are rental-property friendly -- Baby likes to scream very loudly for attention when he isn't gnawing on any wood trim she can find, and the puppies have bladder problems and frequently have accidents inside on top of being bad about barking at everything.

Luckily, the puppies are staying at my brother's house with my mom and Baby is staying with a friend in Tucson who has 2 parrots and a wonderful aviary in his garden. I get to see them all when I go back to Arizona, but it's not the same as having them here with me. Mom said that Coco cried for me for 3 days after I left. :( and my friend Kerry said that Baby has tried to fly away twice because she misses us. I'm going back to Tucson next week to pick up my motorcycle (which has been in the shop) and I'm so excited to see my babies!!

I can't even imagine being in your position. My cat Muffin is my baby and I have a hard enough time just leaving her for a week if I go out of town. I really feel for you!

I'm so sorry you have to be separated from your precious babies! :(

I can imagine it must be SO hard on you. My cat Paddington and dog Henry are my sweet babies, and when I go away for even a weekend without them I miss them SO much... I've actually cried because I miss them so much! Paddington is particularly close to me, and my husband says that when I'm away he cries all night when he realizes I haven't come home.

Recently, we've driven to wherever it is we are going, and we have taken the boys with us. They both love riding in the car :) Henry sits on his dad's lap, and Paddington sits on his mom's :)

Well, tomorrow I'm flying back to Tucson to pick up my motorcycle and see my animals. :woohoo: I'm very excited about that, but not thrilled about the trip out. I'll have to sit for nearly 2 hours at the airport before the flight and then another 2 hours on the flight and yet another 2 hours to take the shuttle from Phx to Tucson. :( 6+ hours of sitting is going to wreak havoc on my bladder and I'm trying not to stress about it, 'cuz that will just make it worse. I'm just glad that when I get to Tucson, the bike shop is close to the shuttle stop so I can ride right away. Keep me in your thoughts....I'll be riding the bike back to Sunnyvale by myself later this week. (I wish I could sneak the puppies back too.) ;)

I could never leave my 3 pomeranians and 2 cats. They are my entire life. Your a very strong person to be able to do that. Good luck in CA! Chelsey
