View Full Version : What a difference a year makes

...I was doubled over crying, peeing every 15 minutes, & trying to sleep a few minutes at a time sitting up on the bathroom floor.

...I couldn't wear pants, only loose shift dresses.

...I was in the ER at 1:00am because my doctors were telling me to drink cranberry juice & take 6 Advil a day & I didn't know any better.

...I was at my sickest, still undiagnosed, losing a pound a day, unable to sleep, eat, drive, work & getting the runaround from a bunch of apathetic doctors.

This week I...
...went to an all-week training for my continuing education requirement, didn't miss a day & had energy to run errands afterwards!

...wore pants every day to the trainings.

...brought my own lunch to the training & my colleagues either didn't notice/ignored it OR wished they had my lunch instead of what was provided. (heehee)

...had a great time at a party last night with former colleagues I hadn't seen since before IC. They were supportive when they saw I wasn't eating the party food & I explained why & that only took up a few minutes . Mostly we laughed & told stories til midnight...

...have meds & a diet that allowed me to sleep in until 10:30 this morning to make up for being out so late last night!!

..am super grateful that this week before school starts is NOTHING like last year's!!!!!!!!!

Today, I had my first ever completely 100% pain free day since I got sick! (I've had hours without pain, but never a full day before.)

I am so grateful for these boards & all of you because I wouldn't have had this kind of week without all the love, support & information I've received here!

Kadi,

Congrats!! :woohoo: It's so uplifting to see that it's possible to make things better with the right choices. :) I hope and pray every day that a day like that is ahead for me too. I've made progress, but an entire pain-free day is like a dream for me....I'm so envious. :)

I hope you (and all of us) have many such days to come.

Oh Kadi, What an inspirational note. I hope all that are feeling bad will take note that it is possible to see such improvement. You are truly what we all work so hard to accomplish. Keep up the great work & may all your days be pain free. Big smiles, Kathi :smile fai
