Hey there everyone...well I finally got my Urodynamics Investigation and it came up to I have a small bladder ..and Irritable bladder and deffinate protrusion through the vaginal wall and soemthing else...but I cannot remember cause my Dr has had me on Morphine shots for the past couple days and now I am sitting here with a bag hooked up to me ..they had to cath me cause there was so much pain...and I am also on Opium and Belladonna suppositories...so as it is right now I have no pain... the reason they cathed me was cause my bladder was not draining properly and was causing alot of discomfort...along with the protrusion...my god it felt like my bladder was falling out of me ...but now I am happy and feeling no pain..hopefully they will fix it soon..they cannot get a hold of my Uro right now and my family dr wants him to do a hydrodistention now ...so hopefully they will do that soon. hi
Darla,
I am sorry you are going through what you are but it sounds like you are getting some answers and that is good. You will know what you are dealing with and what to do about it. Good Luck.

Hey every well..things haven't changed ...they still have me on the Opium and Belladonna, I take two now ,,,My Dr had taken out the cath and the pain came right back so I was back in the hopsital the same day getting a new cath put in...I went shopping with my daughter the other day and I almost ended up on the floor in the mall cause I was in so much painand now to top it off I have the stomach flu...so between the Opium and Belladonna..and the gravol...I spend alot of time sleeping or laying on the couch.
Thankfully I see the Uro in just over a week now...god I hope things move a lot faster cause I am getting sick of this Cath, anyways ...thankyou for your support and replies ....
Oh Darla, you poor thing, on top of everything else you get the stomach flu, whoa, you are going through a really bad time here. I know you will be glad to see your uro, here's hoping that you will soon get rid of the stomach flu, and start to feel a little bit better. Well keep us posted as to how you are doing, stay warm and take care of yourself, hope things start to ease up for you gentle hugs Iris hi grouphug

Hi there...
I had my second urodynamics test done yesterday and it was totally different than the first one. I had it done by the same nurses and done at the same place but my body reacted totally different. I was in so much pain that I had to call my husband to pick me up because i could not drive home. I have some kind of prolapsed bladder and urethra so it was really uncomfortable. It just goes to show you that everyone at any time will react different to the same procedure. Sharing stories is good but it may not give you a complete picture of what you are going to go through.
Good luck to all, Tina C hi

Darla,
I had to Cath after my fourth hydro, cysto, ect in the hospital. The first two days I could not even walk, but then something magical happened, on the third day, the pain was gone, and I actually had a good nights sleep considering not having to get up to use the bathroom. But the pain was so much decreased. The downside to it was since I am a nurse, I was told I could not miss work, so I had to work with the Cath and "leg bag", even though no one could see it, when they found out about it they fired me a week later. But as for anyone with a Cath in right now and is in pain, you may want to add a cream to the urethral area, it is called EMLA and it works very well for some people. Esp, if you have had relief from lidocaine being injected in your bladder before an instillation. My prayers are with all of you!

Is EMLA prescription? or OTC?
Darla, Have you considered legal action? I would think that is a possibility.
