UTI/kidney infection

Okay guys this is what has been going on with me lately first off I have a bad UTI/kidney infection.
i'm having pains I never have had before and even tho. I was at the doctor office yesterday dummy me didn't ask all the questions i should have :(
I know a UTI makes you burn but its like i'm on fire in my private area (this isn't normal for me) my lower part of my back is killing me but my doctor said it was because my uti was traveling to my kidneys I'm so sick of all these UTI's!
i'm taking leviquin and my pain medicine but this burning in the private area is driving me nuts.
I have to call my Uro monday to let them know i was seen by my family doctor and treated maybe he will have some answers all i know is this is driving me nuts!
maybe its from stress? :yikes:

I wish they could figure out why you've been getting all these infections. Have you been to the gyno about why your whole private area burns? Do you think you have a vaginal infection in addition to the UTI? I don't know... all I know is I hope you get better as soon as possible.

I am so sorry you keep going through this. I am in the same boat today. The docs office will decide tomorrow if I have to be admitted to hosp for IV a/b. It is just so frustrating!!!!

bless your heart i went threw that so much when i was preg. with all my children and a few times not being preg.
it just makes it so hard on us.

I haven't been to a Gyn in it seems like forever the last time i seen a gyn was when i was preg with Alex and he is six now. My family doctor and Uro has been treating me for women's problems (which isn't many) "I hope" I pray its just the infection right now i'm mainly hurting in my right side and my lower part of my back up into the kidneys I'm wareing my overhalls they are real lose so that may be helping with the burning.

Thank you all for your well wishes! i'm still trying to figure out why i'm hurting so badly in my right side my appendix (sp?) has already been removed my hunners was removed back in May also but yet the doctor said that the hunners would come back quickly but yet i wonder if its the hunner coming back or something else and if its something else then it could have been that something else hurting the whole time instead of the hunners :( as you can tell i'm confused :rolleyes: what do you guys think?

Oh Kim I think we need to leave club uti open year around I don't think there is going to be a slack in people needing a room. Exp. Me :dizzy:

Hi,

With all this talk about UTI's and kidney infections, I am starting to wonder.
Yesterday at my 2nd job, and today at my regular job, by lower back on the right had side was bothering me. It is not bothering me now, weird. I had some cramping today, even though I am not on my period. So now, like I mentioned at the beginning of this message I am a little concered whether or not I have a UTI that has travelled up to my kidney's. I don't want to go see my doctor, as I just saw her, but I guess I should. Oh heck, I don't know what to do! I hate living alone! I can't ask someone who is living with me and knows me for a second opinion! :hmm: :confused: :headbang: :(

Hey Lynn... when in doubt, call the doc, even if you've just seen her ;) Kidney infections can be very serious, so if you even have the slightest suspicion that you have one, you should be checked immediately so you can be put on the proper antibiotics ASAP.

I am so sorry you're feeling like this!! I just went through a bad UTI and they just seem to come and go for no reason!! Now I think I'm flaring because of the UTI. Please feel better. :)

I'm sorry you are going through this, I feel really bad for you. I hope and pray you will recover very soon and not have another UTI ever again.

When I hear of lower back pain, I think...maybe an infection...then I think...maybe a kidney stone (which can also come with an infection)....just a thought...

Dixie - I know this is an old post - but have you gotten any answers as to the frequent UTIs? I get them about every 6 weeks .. and if I wait too long (thinking it's just another flare) it will be another kidney infection.

Any advice or suggestions?

my bladder is like velcro sp? instead of infection going out when i pee the infection kind of sticks to the bladder walls. I just had IV anti a few weeks ago to get rid of yet another serious uti. however i do think that the new drug i'm on called Uritact DS is helping some it truns your urine Green (i can't handle red or blue dyes.) so far this has been okay for me. it has something in it to help the urine tract system. you can look it up to get more information about it, but so far i do believe its helping me

No Kim they called me Thursday when my cat scan appt was for Friday morning the lady put me down for Thursday after we talked about how i had a gyn post op check up for thursday morning and we would do it on Friday, but yet she still put me down for thursday. so i get an ugly call from an Rn saying you been calling once a week for your pain meds but yet you don't show up for your test why haven't you. HELLO my appt is for tomorrow morning. she says oh no its today. I say i conf. the appt twise before i hung the phone last friday when ya'll called and cancel the appt. anyhow. because of the lady making the mistake and she said she remember us talking about my gyn appt. and how it wouldn't be wise to do them both the same day. for me to come in Tuesday so i go in the morning at 10:30 a.m for this test and have to start drinking that nasty stuff at 8 a.m. then i go back and see my doctor weds.
I hope that makes sinces. lol its been very confuseing around here (my house lately)

I tried Uritact DS (generic of Prosed DS) - it turned my urine a blue/green color (yellow urine plus blue pill equals greenish/blueish urine). It helped with burning - unfortunately it also would give me migraines. I decided burning was more tolerable than migraines. Besides, with a migraine I would have to take yet another pill .. and I HATE taking meds.
