Hi guys,
Don't know why I haven't mentioned this before but it just seems to be getting worse and worse. My whole vaginal area is permanently sore. Right the way from frone to back!! It used to get steadily worse through the day but now i'ts dreadful right from when I wake up in the morning. Hubby and I haven't had sex in two weeks because I am just too sore. It feels like we have had sex 100 times- of coarse, we haven't!! Does anyone else experience this?? I thought it might be thrush so I got a thrush treatment but it actually made it worse!!! Painkillers don't help either.
Can't stand this, it hurts to sit down, it hurts to walk, it's just agonizing. Am dreading my period which is when it gets 1000 times worse!!!
Any feedback??
Thanks all,
Sara

Go see your gyn, you could have vulvodynia. There's no cure, but there are treatments that can help. Read up on vulvodynia and maybe bring some of the info in to your doctor.

I think a trip to your doctor's office would be a good idea. In the meantime there are some simple things you can try to see if it helps:
Use only plain white toilet tissue --- and don't wipe that area --- blot.
Using a spray bottle, rinse the area after you urinate.
Wear only 100% cotton underpants and double rinse when you launder to be certain to get all the detergent out (and don't use laundry "soap" --- detergent is best for skin problems).
Sometimes it helps to take only showers instead of sitting in a tub of water.
Never put soap directly on the tender skin. And be sure you are using a gentle skin cleanser in the shower. I use Neutrogena, but there are others.
I hope you are able to get in to see your doctor soon.
Warm healing thoughts,
Donna

A visit to your doc is in order here. You may have a bacterial infection (rather than yeast as in thrush)... and if you don't, it's possible you do have vulvodynia. Your gyno can check you out and see what's going on.
In the meantime, try following Donna's advice about self-care. I'm pretty sensitive down there too and I find all of those tips help lots. I use Johnson's Baby Wash on my genital area and it seems to be okay for me... no irritation. I also use detergents that are "free and clear"--no fragrance or color-- and double rinse my underpants. I also sleep in a long cotton shirt with no panties... I found this reduces irritation and lets the area breathe through the night.
I can relate to your feeling of being sore in that area. That is
where most of my pain is centered. Along with the terrible burning!!
I have pain all the way to the rectum. It hurts to even push up
to get out of a chair. I do take a demoral if it gets unbearable.
Hope you get help soon. (((HUGS))) Rita
along with the terrible
I would definitely have your GYN run a culture to rule out a bacterial infection. It is so hard to tell the difference between that and a yeast infection. Even doctors have trouble telling sometimes and have to rely on cultures to be sure.
Good luck and I sure hope you feel better soon.
I really feel for you, I think the gals have given you some really good tips in your post. Do hope that you can get some ease from your soreness and find some relief to help you feel better. Please let us know how you are doing, and hope that you can get to feeling better really soon, soft, soft hug Iris. :grouphug: :flower:

I am certainly no Doctor, but I have Vulvodynia and you have the exact same symptoms that I do. Mine has been so bad that my husband and I haven't been able to have sex for almost 9 months now :cussing: So far I haven't really found anything that has helped me, but I have been using Purex Free Detergent for a few months now and have been wearing only white underwear and it seems to help just a little. Please get over to your Dr's when you can and know that I will be keeping you in my thoughts.

It seems as though you have gotton a lot of good advice. I get the soreness down there before and during my cycle. It gets so bad that it hurts to sit on the toilet or anywhere for that matter during that time. It must be aweful for you to have to put up with it all the time. I would see someone to help you with the pain and make sure you rule out an infection. I hope you will feel better soon. Take care - Chris :)
