Suffering can make us all tired....if this is new to you please tell your doc. It may just be because of suffering, or meds. I hope things improve for you. I noticed the fatigued seems to be a symptom of my IC....it may be because our sleep is restless....even the lucky ones that sleep through the night are probably uncomfortable sometimes while asleep....which can affect how well our sleep is....that can make us need more sleep as well.
If this is new though please see your doctor.

I can get extremely exhausted somedays and usually right out of the blue. Mine is from chronic pain, stress, and disrupted sleep patterns. Have you talked to your doctor about being fatique?

I get tired a lot too. I just quit an extremely stressful job to focus on my health, and I think now that I am not working my body is trying to catch up on all the rest it missed out on during the last few years :)
This will make me sound lazy, but I take an hour nap in the morning after my husband leaves for work, and then I take a second hour-long nap in the afternoon after doing some chores/errands/projects around the house. Then we generally go to bed at night between 10 and 11pm and sleep to about 6am. I get up anywhere from 0-5 times a night to pee, depending on how I'm feeling, so sometimes I'm more tired in the daytime than others. Basically, I am just sleeping when I feel the need to these days to try and nurture myself.
Regardless, I get enough sleep... so I don't know why I'm always so tired either. I do think that pain makes you tired, like Katrina says, and that is part of my problem. Some of it is my meds, too, I think.
Anyway, if it's new for you, or came on really suddenly, I'd speak to your doctor about it... :)
And in the meantime, sweet dreams ;)

This is funny cause I came on to post a question about energy and clocked on this one...so it somewhat has answered my question. I have had IC for some time now...and at the moment I also have a nasty bladder infection..I went for a DMSO treatment on Monday and couldnt be done cause of infection. Im on 1000 mg 6 days of Cipro. Meanwhile, today to lift my arms (to even type this) takes all I have. IM PHYSICALLY DRAINED. I TRIED to clean and my hands hurt .. I have NO ooomph, no energy and want to go to bed and sleeeep away. I dont sleep well at night to begin with but I did last night..Im usually up between 5-7 times a night and I stay up for long periods too. I was wonderfing if this LACK of energy is from IC...it wasnt soo much like this moneths ago..this stinks.
Thanks!

I am sleepy most days. I have to make myself do what needs to be done. If I am busy, I don't notice it so much. I do know that I don't sleep well during the night. I do not have to get up to pee during most nights. I am just a restless sleeper. I wake up and go back to sleep a lot.

Well, not to say that I am glad that you guys are tired, but I thought it was just me. I told my doc yesterday, and told him that I am so tired that I can barely function...just do't wanna do one thing. Well,I'm goin down for a nap! :)

My IC and fibromyalgia were both diagnosed at the same time, so I don't know if just IC causes such fatigue, but CHRISTINE, you're describing my fibro symptoms. Hands, elbows, knees especially, and today, feet really hurt. HAYLEE, I can sleep 12 hours through and wake up exhausted. Maybe you'd better research fibro. I adore naps too, when I can get them. And any kind of pain or aggravation is fatiguing, so cut yourself all the slack you can, and rest, rest, rest. I hope you feel much better soon.

I am tired every single day! I have 3 kids and I am a stay at home mom. I can barely make it through sometimes because I am so drained. I have no idea how I do it sometimes because I fall asleep in weird places. Even standing up leaning against the conter in the morning or on the toilet waiting for my muscles to relax enoough to go. I wish I could take a nap. I also have fibro, psoraitic athritis, IC, Gurd, Collitis, Dysmorphia, PMS syndrome, PTSS, anxiety, and something I can't remember the name of darn this fibro fog! My doctor said I devoloped the fibro along with the arthritis who know's. Anyways I would have it checked out. Can ICer's take Ginsing or anything to try and stay awake because coffee is on the no list. Just wondering. I hope you will firgure it out and if you find something that helps let me know too! Take care - Chris :)

I've been told that antibiotics really make you lose your energy. Also chronic pain. I know I would like to drift off most of the day. I also wonder if some of my sleepiness is psychological--something in psych 101 said that sleeping is a way to escape?? I know I'm usually not in pain when I sleep.
