Hello everyone,
I had posted this back last Jan... and wanted to repost it... There is an infection called Bacterial vaginosis that is similar to a yeast infection. It is often over looked. You have to be asked to be checked for it, other wise they write it up as a yeast infection.. I learned this the hard way, after not being able to get rid of, what I thought was a yeast infection.. the med they give you for it is called metro-gel... so ladies, please make sure you are checked for this too and are being properly treated.

OMG Brat I had this same infection once, a couple of years ago! I didn't know what was wrong with me. I don't know how I got it - they said it wasn't sexually transmitted, that it was just an imbalance like yeast infections only an imbalance of bacteria - I thought maybe I got it from taking bubble baths. But they told me it was actually a more common problem in women than yeast!

Thanks for posting this!

Blessings, Lori

I have had it twice this summer from swimming in pools. I have never been Rxed the metro-gel. It is a vaginal cream? I am on amoxycillin and cleocin 2% vaginal cream. It knocks it out pretty well. I just hate the yeast infection that follows b/c of the antibiotics so I ask for a Rx for diflucan.
