Hi all,

I haven't posted here in so long! I had a baby about three months ago and have a few questions. My IC has been doing great since about the second trimester. I'm a little nervous though, because last Tuesday I began to have some achiness in my hands and arms. That lasted about two days. That went away and then I began getting a little achiness in my knees. That also lasted two days and then just yesterday I started to get achiness in my shoulders and upper back. I've also had a bit of a stomach ache since yesterday. It's strange though, because I'll only notice it for a few minutes at a time as weird as that may sound. I also have noticed this sour type stomach occasionally in the past two weeks. I could feel it when I would hold my daughter and she would be positioned at the right angle pushing into my stomach. I know this sounds strange  I saw my doctor after the two days of hand and arm achiness and he said it sounded exactly like carpel tunnel which often happens because of hormones. Well, that was Thursday before I began feeling achiness in other parts. It's weird because this achiness is somewhere different concentrated every few days. I'm getting nervous that I'm devoloping fibromyalgia. I plan to call him tomorrow, but in the meantime does any have any words to offer? I've been sleeping in not the best positions for the past month which I assume could cause achiness but not so many parts of my body all of the sudden. How does fibromyalgia usually start to manifest? Could it be anything else? I know no one can diagnose, but I'm really looking for some ideas on just possibilities.....I tried testing the 18 tender points on myself and have found no real point to be really painful.....

TIA

Jill:)

Since you added stomache to complains around your joints and musscles....and just had a child....could it be access gas as your body adjusts to the hormone changes?

I am almost certain my hormones have done that to me in the past....just a theory....
Good Luck.

Hi Katrina,

I've never heard of that. I'll talk to my doc today. I'm not sure though becauase last night and today I feel extremely exhausted. It's weird, so far no prominant muscle aches yet today, just very very tired. I had some aching about the size of a tennis ball on my ankle last night that lasted for a few hours. Also, I noticed my heart rate seems a bit high. No fever though. I hate not knowing what is wrong with me!

Thanks for the support ladies:)

Jill

I have not been officially dx with fibromyalgia, but I also suspect I may have it. I will develope aches that feels like I am starting to come down with something. When I lay down and rest, my symptoms can sometimes disappear as fast as they came on. Sometimes the flu like feeling stays with me all day, and is just gone the next day.

I do have one suggestion --- and that is to ask your doctor about having some blood work done to determine if you have any deficiencies. The one that comes to my mind is potassium, where deficiencies can cause muscle aches and fatigue.

Sending healing thoughts,
