I was just wondering if any of you feel that you sleep too much ? I fell asleep at 8pm last eve, woke up by 11, was up til 4, then slept til 11...I just feel that I can't get enough sleep. Does this happen to any of you when you flare? Thanks Sheri :toilet:

Yes sometimes i feel the same way but normal its after i had a long hard flare i do this think its because those days and night i'm up then the pain medicine also makes me sleepy. but that is just me :(
the other night i went to bed at 12 am slept to 11:30 yesterday morning laid back down again around 2 pm slept till 4pm then went back to bed around 11 last night and slept to 9am this morning.

I sleep a lot ...especially when I flare....I think it may be connected to extra meds and hormones (and yes I believe that still even after my hysterectomy in January)....flaring now and basically sleeping just like you.

Yep! I wish I were sleeping right now. Not only do I feel tired, but it's a nice break from the discomfort.

Hey its Nina- I am always tired and sleepy. Probably because for some
reason my atypical ic (as I was told it is) is unrelentless. I am talking flaring a storm. The pain is making so sleepy and the ultracet for pain doesn't make
me anymore awake. I tried the elavil and it worked some. If I could I would sleep all day.

Hi, Dianne, I feel like I'm 90 too. I went on a trip recently and visited family, and was around a lot of people. I just could not believe how much more energy they seemed to have, compared to me. It just hit me so hard that right now, like this, there is no way I could see myself holding down a job. Maybe possibly as something sit-down and not too strenuous - like maybe a toll booth person at the airport on the midnight shift when hardly anyone comes through - something like that - but I'd have to wear a diaper to urinate in because my bladder needs emptying so often.

I honestly feel like, right now, I'm 90 years old and just counting the days until I get to go home to God. I go from the bed to the sofa and all the time with my hot water bottle between my legs, and going to the bathroom so often too. And I just feel lousy all the time. Want to sleep all the time. No energy or enthusiasm for hardly anything.

It might be that in the last few weeks, I feel especially bad because apparently I have a UTI on top of everything else, and infections always make me feel lousy, and then the antibiotics also for some reason make me feel bad while I'm taking them too.

But even so - I know I don't have as much energy as normal people and I know I sleep way too much. I sleep from like maybe ten or eleven at night until 8 in the morning, then often usually I take a nap during the afternoon, anywhere from half an hour to a couple of hours depending. So that is too much sleep really but my body seems to need it.

Thanks for bringing this topic up, it's a good one! I am relieved to know I am not alone in this feeling that my body is on its last legs, no energy, etc. but I'm sad to know so many of my fellow IC'ers feel as icky as I do.

Each day brings us closer to a cure.

Blessings, Lori

My husband has been gone on a overnight trip. Before he left yesterday, I told him I was looking forward to catching up on some sleep. I have been tired for so long. I went to sleep last night around 9:00pm and finally forced myself out of bed this morning at 7:30. I am still tired!!!!!! So I guess it isn't lack of sleep that is causing this feeling of always being tired.

I have been reading most of the day and trying to stay awake. I am tired of being tired. I think I need to take a bath in caffeine to see if that would wake me up. :) No...wait. That would mean that I would have to buy a boat load of Prelief to put in the bath, also. Never mind...can't afford that. :)

Wow here I was thinking that I had sleeping sickness, I can't get enough sleep. I have even dozed at my desk at work while keying clients information in. Not a good thing at all. Thankfully my boss has been cool about me doing that as I know he has caught me a couple of times I know. I stay so tired all the time.
