Can't bear this anymore!!

Hubby and I had sex 3 days ago, (always a trigger) and ever since have been burning when I pee and sharp, sharp bladder pain. I woke at 2am this morning feeling like somebody was raping my bladder with a razor blade, the pain was so bad. I started burning up and took my temp and had a fever so went to dr this morning and he said their was blood in my urine!! I just got off a coarse of amoxycillin for infection 2 weeks ago and have been taking macrodantin 100mg to PREVENT infection... ha bloody ha. Great to see it's working.

So tired of this, so tired of the pain and feeling like crap. Don't want to end up in the ER again, (I did earlier this year with nasty kidney infection.) Don't understand why this is happening to me!!! I take Cranberry tablets, Macrodantin, herbal tonic to prevent UTi, thtis is just bloody rediculous. I feel so sick, I'm shivering all over, just want my life back. Hate this so much, so scared all the time. How do we get through this? Seriously???

Oh please, please please make the pain go away... I have a heat pack but I'm shivering so badly and I need to go to the loo again, I hate this so much!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so sorry... Wish I could make it go away for you. Sounds like you may need to call your doctors office or go to the ER (hugggsss) I hope your feeling better soon. Hopefully the antibiotic will kick in I also just started my antibiotics 1 last night and 2 today. I still got chills today and a slight fever but its getting better.

Yes, please call your doc or go to an ER or Urgent Care. I know it is SUCH a pain in the rear to keep getting infections. It is really, really aggravating. I wonder if course of antibiotics a couple of weeks ago didn't quite do the trick?

I am so sorry to hear of your bout with this pain, I know exactly what you are going through, it is so hard to have adult relationships and not really be able to enjoy them, I too am writing because of some of the same reasons, intercourse sends me into atleist a 3 day tail spin that I cannot even begin to relay. It sucks terribly since I need the love and attention from my dear Husband yet I always pay for it.
Tonight I wish I had a new bladder, yet I am afraid of this too, so many complications, so many questions, so much uncertainty yet I am so sick to death of living like this!! Ya'll know this plight!!
I hope you start feeling better soon, do the Cranberry pills effect your bladder? I would be a huge bout of pain if I took those, I took them for years before I knew I had IC, so sad looking back knowing now that they were only hurting me instead of helping!!

I'm thinking that perhaps the cranberry capsules could be a problem. And what's in the tonic you are taking?

Some things that might help to prevent irritation for sex are to use plenty of lubricant (even if you don't think you need it!) and experiment with positions to avoid trauma to the bladder.

Thank you for posting your feelings...is your husband understanding of IC? I am in a new relationship and scared to death that my IC will push this special person away. Just as we were planning romantic time together I launched into a mother of a flare, and we havent' even had sex yet. I'm scared...

Hi guys, thanks so much for all your positive thoughts. (I'm so sorry to all who are also in pain- my thoughts are with you!)

Yesterday morning I was in so much pain I was literally beside myself. My husband stayed home because I couldn't get out of bed (except, of coarse to go to the loo!) I was actually hysterical at one point and demanded that he take me to the Er because I just needed something for the pain.

They were actually quite good to me, except for the inevitable loooong wait. The dr checked my urine and there was nothing there. They rang my dr for my results from Monday and except for "traces of blood" and some inflammatory cells" there was no infection. (Another pointless round of antibiotics and now my thrush is SO bad.) As I still do not have a definitive diagnosis of IC (I am waiting on a cystoscopy,) the dr called in a specialist who is wondering if I might have endometriosis, not IC. Is it possiblt to have both?? Does endometriosis cause bladder pain?? I still do not understand why I have blood in my urine.

I have had hardly any sleep because the pain last night was debilitating. I have an appointment for a pelvic ultrasound on Monday and a gynaecological app. on Wednesday. At least they are taking me seriously, I was so afraid they wouldn't.

Yes! It is possible to have both IC and endometriosis...many on these boards have both. I had a hysterectomy at a young age for endometriosis and the pain is somewhat similar to IC....of course the endo. had grown all over my bladder and internal organs, so that is probably why.

I have a suggestion for your thrush....when I have it I eat PLAIN yogurt, no fruit, etc. Let it stay in your mouth a few seconds as you eat it. It sooths your mouth and helps heal the thrush.
