Hey! kissing
Everyone, thank you, thank you, thank you...for all of your comforting and TRUTHFUL replies about the cysto/hydro. I really appreciated it. it went SO much better than I had anticipated...I was knocked out before I knew it. I was REALLY sore waking up, and my bladder pain has gotten better but has not fully subsided yet. Definitely going to the bathroom a lot and still quite irritated. My doctor said I have LESIONS on my bladder wall, but he doesn't think its enough to diagnose me with IC. He says that he is really SLOW in diagnosing people with that, and it might just be the beginning phases of it. Interesting, so what does LESIONS on my bladder wall mean? I Know that all the naughty-not-so-IC-friendly food definitely bothers me. Just given you all a report! (its been 6 days since the procedure!)...the anesthesia me throw up NONstop for 3 days, though! thanks everyone, you all ROCK!

It sounds very much like a strong possibility that it's IC. What is the doctor recommending in the way of treatment options?

Sending warm healing thoughts,
Donna

Yeah...I don't know. I feel as though all of my symptoms completely match the IC symptoms...and so it contributes to the whole "denial process" when my doctor doesn't diagnose me with IC even though there are lesions on my bladder wall. Weird! Just for sanity..sometimes I think I'm crazy, and I ask myself if i am making up all this pain...

I took elmiron (the same doctor prescribed this for me) for about 2 months, and after the 2nd month noticed a TAD improvement...like a slight alleviation in my symptoms. I stopped taking it though because I thought it was causing my rashes. Plus, the back of my hair was getting so thing and I hated that. Anyways, on the medical form from the hospital when I had my cysto/hydro, he wrote to continue taking Elmiron.

also--I feel a bit aggravated from the hydro! it hurts to walk fast...do you think thats just from the procedure or...you know how the hydro sometimes makes people worse? I definitely notice an INCREASE in sensitivity to foods that didn't hurt so bad before the hydro..

thanks for all your reads and replys!

It does take a while to recover from a hydrodistention. I usually plan on taking it easy for a couple of weeks afterwards, even though I can do most things within a few days.

From now on if you ever have surgery, tell the anestheologist about the vomiting and they will give you something before surgery. You shouldn't have to be sick to your stomach. I couldn't take Elmiron either. I hope you get a diagnosis soon.
