Finally Diagnosed!!!

Well after posting on here for a few months, I was just finally diagnosed last week! Now I'm at a total lost on what to do now! AHHHH!!! So many options, soooo confused!!! My doctor is underl a trial there doing of Elmirion and I can get it free for 6 months, and get paid when I see the doctor. Which is tempting. BUT!!!!! This is my body and I need to take charge over it. And the problem with trying that is, I'm trying a natural route to feel better, and am afraid taking another pill will just mess that up!!! But then there are soooo many natural options I'm soooo confused!!! I want to try and do all the research I can, but am so tired and sick its hard too! Right now I am trying the IC diet, another diet given to me by a naturopathic, and some herbal things. Then I've heard of full body cleansing...and with all my problems am tempted to even try that. But should I give the Elmiron a chance first? An suggestions what I can do. I hate making decisions, and don't know where to turn and soo many options!!! Help!!! What to do????

Hi. I definitely think you should undergo the trials. Elmiron is a safe drug and is helpful to a lot of IC patients. I've only been on it for 2 weeks now but it is VERY expensive unless you have good insurance and to get paid for it at the same time is a good deal since most likely you will have to take it eventually. I am all for trying natural things, but some problems can't be cured/controlled with that alone. I had to take chemo for my breast cancer and believe I am alive today because of that. Homeopathic treatments would not have put me in remission. This is just my opinion and you have to make up your own mind, but with proper medications, we can get better. To get the Elmiron for free and be paid to use it at the same time...no question here as far as I am concerned. Save the money you will receive while in the test to pay for the Elmiron once you are through. What are you waiting for...Go for it. :thumbsup:

I would say 95% (guessing) of all people that has been DX with IC has been started out on Elimron or has taking it at some point. Even I have taking it in the pass.
Elimron is a safe drug but it just didn't help me so I had to go to its sister that is stonger the heparin treatments.
so many people have a hard time getting Elimron because its so high in price.
To do a study on this drug and to know its safe. and get paid there would be no question in my mind that I would try it.

I would give it a try espically if you dont have to pay for it. Taking pills is not my favorite thing either but if it helps I would do just about anything.. Good luck
