?maybe out of major pain??

Well ever since I went to my new urologist and he prescribed these medications (Elmiron,Atarax, Neurontin and home instills) I have not had near as much pain or frequency or urgency. :thumbsup: I was not taking Atarax or Neurontin before so one or both have been the key to helping get rid of my pain. Now I can feel low level pain and most of the time that I do it is because of something I ate. I seem to be very sensitive to foods and have to watch my diet like a hawk. Prelief does not do that much for me (or maybe it did and everything would have been much worse had I not taken it).
Anyway I am now feeling much better with my IC but am tired and/or sleepy. I work parttime and come home and need to take a nap (sometimes of 2+ hours) and am still ready to go to bed around nine!!! I get absoutely nothing accomplished at home which is the same position I was in before except instead of pain I am dealing with side effects of the meds. I am hoping that I will adjust....especially since they do seem to work.
But no matter.....I feel this was a success :) because I was going crazy and getting severly depressed having to deal the chronic pain.

I'm glad you're feeling less pain.... give your body a chance to deal with the meds, too. Many people become accustomed to them and report not feeling nearly as sleepy. I know Atarax used to completely knock me out, but I got used to it. There have been several other meds that I've become accustomed to as well.. although there are a few that keep me sleepy, too.

Yeah the chronic pain is hard to handle. Believe me I know that combined with the fact that no one believes how bad it is. Glad you found something to help you!!
