Curious how you may deal with intercourse pain? I had intercourse for the first time in weeks with my fiancé, and the act itself did not hurt, but boy I’m sure in pain now. I feel worse than I have in a week or so. Not fair!!!!! :hmm:

Well, there are certain positions that work better for hubby & I -- you need to experiment with different ones to see what works for you, as everyone is different with regard to that (the "everyone is different" comment is probably starting to frustrate you, but it is SO true :) ).

We also use LOTS of extra lubrication. We use something called Liquid Silk. It was suggested by PikkuMyy on this site and it is great stuff! You can get it online at Good Vibrations (http://www.goodvibes.com) or at drugstore.com. Good Vibrations also sells a Lube Sampler Pack that has 8-10 different trial sizes of lubes, so you can experiment with different ones to see what you prefer.

If you experience bad urethral burning like I do sometimes after sex, it helps to take a Pyridium before "going for it", and also have an ice pack or cold compress ready to cool the fire. Afterwards, it often helps to take a hot bath or lie comfortably with a heating pad. Even if you are not in pain yet, the heat seems to quiet the bladder down and I find it leads to reduced pain in the next few days. Taking an anti-inflammatory (sometimes even just Tylenol or Advil) right before or just after sex can help prevent some of the pain later too.

Hope this helps...

Yeah, that’s exactly how this is, it didn’t hurt at the time, but I’m in horrible pain now. If it does not subside in a day or so I will probably go to the Dr. to see about a UTI (for the umpteenth time in the past 8 mos.! :lmao:)

Thanks for the advice!

I am so grateful for these mssg boards. This is exactly what I am worried about. I have been single/celibate for 4 years but am in a new relationship. My bladder was even better, until I started getting turned on. Now that we are approaching the time of being physically intimate, my bladder turns into a ball of fire and I feel like the universe is saying, "no you can't have that." I am to the point of tears. He has said all the right things and is very loving, but this is a big part of loving. I am trying to learn how to accept the limitations, but I'm so disappointed...
