Thanks all for you post and prayers, I still maybe a couple days because I am in a lot of pain.. My bladder had no elasticity in it. I was in o.r. for 45 mins as he slowly, stretched it I got pictures and it looks like a big scared up bloody ball with lots of red spots, it hurt me more to look at it. Now I know why it hurts so bad when I flare it looks very painful. There are so many cracks and spots (pin point bleeding) its hard to believe my bladder looks so horrible. I peed a hole 6 ounces for the first time in like forever and was happy.. today back to 3 I am peeing a lot of blood, which he said I will for the next couple days, abd, alot of burning and feel like I am peeing razors...
any who thanks again gonig to go and take my pain meds as it hurts to sit, walk.. ok just plain old move...
Brat
thank you too to Jess and Rhonda for calling me :)

Cindy:
I hope your recovery time will be short and You will have remission soon.
I have had about 8 hydrodistention in the past 9 years. Usually it took me about a month to heal from the stretch, but my remission only last around 2 months. My last hydrodistention was 2 years ago and I decided not to have it anymore. Waking up from anethesia with a painful bladder was not fun at all. grouphug

Hi Cindy, Good to hear that you're up and around a bit. Sounds like you've got a lot of good info from your hydro. I hope that you'll be feeling the benefits of the procedure asap. Until then, take extra good care of yourself! Gentle, gentle, gentle hugs and best wishes, little bear

Cindy,
I prayed for you all day,b/c I know when I had mine it almost killed me. Bill had to take me back to ER. Thats how I got dx'ed. I was having a horrible time or I would have called you too, but I thought about you all day. Is the pain any better?? What kind of pain meds did they put you on?? Something that will help the pain?? I worried about you so much b/c I knew how that thing hurts!!!
LOVE AND HUGS

Cindy,
I am so sorry you are in so much pain. What strength vicodin do you take? I hope it's enough because I cant stand to hear of people having untreated pain. If you dont get enough relief please call the doctor for something else, thats what they're there for, any time of the day or night.
You take care, write when you can so we know you're doing ok.
Love, Sandy

Hi all
I know that I am going to flare after a hydro my dr explained it all to me (This is only my second one) I am taking 5/500 vicodine. thankfully I have them.. I am convienced that my bladder went right back to its orginal size, that it could not handle the stretch.. it shrunk right back down to the walnut that it was....gggggrrrrrr.... at the hospital I had to pee and the urgency was killing me. I couldn't go any more than an ounce because NO ONE would let me alone long enough to sit there and convience my bladder to let it out, they kept knocking on the door and asknig are you all right gggggggrrrrrr... well I got home and turned on my interstim and the urgency went away. I finally peed 6 ounces woho, then the next morning I peed 6 ounces and the next time I peed it was 5 1/2... after that it was all ove it was back to 2 and 3 ounces and the dribbles in between :( now with me flaring I look at liquid and have to pee banghead
Any who..... going to call my dr and ask for more pain pills the one I have are almost gone :( there was 50 and i had them filled 1/12/04.... I wait till I really hurt b4 I take them, which is a bad idea....

I'm thinking about you Brat. Hope you start to feel better soon. Try to stay on top of the pain with your pain pills. And let your uro know how you are feeling, or if pain is too much.
I've only had 1 cysto/hydro (June 2003) and it definitely took some time to recover. While it did not help my symptoms, I'm glad I did it b/c it gave a better picture of what was going on in my bladder.
I know there are lucky people out there that feel better quickly after this procedure and their symptoms are better for a long time. I hope this is the case for you too!
Take it easy,
Nicole blink
Hi Brat, hope you start to feel a little better. I know I was nagged about taking my pills, I used to wait until too late, and then it was a long time to get relief, everyone kept nagging me to stay ahead of the pain. Hope you get relief really soon, soft hugs Iris. hi grouphug
Brat,
Hoping things will settle down soon. Take it easy and I will be praying for you.

Brat,
Sandy's right. If the vicodin isn't cutting it ask for something stronger. Morphine worked for me when the vicodin quit working. I'm sorry your hurting. We are all sending you our prayers. I know it helps validate the I.C. when we see our pictures. It really helped my family to understand why I hurt so bad. I coppied mine and stuck it in a notebook that has all of my treatment info in it so that when I go to a new dr. or the E.R. they can see what the hec I'm talking about when I say I'm in terrible pain. After my hydro I asked asked for some lidicaine jelly 2%. I have since learned how to use a q-tip to put it just inside the urethra but sometimes I just apply it with my finger to the outer area. For me it helps but I know it burns for some people.
I hope you get to feeling better soon and until then rest and take your pain meds.
Rachel
