I'm going to ask this anyway. If you had a choice as to what antidepressent to take to help with the feeling of urgency and frequency which one would you choose, and what strength do you think helps?

I'm seeing my Uro this afternoon and I'm going to ask for something.

I currently take Elmiron and Ditropan Xl, and I do think they have helped most things, but I could always have frequency if I gave in to it, so I'm looking for something to help me with it.

Thanks for your input.

I heard elavil can help w. the urgency frequency issues. There was also one starting with an H but I dont think it is an anti-depressent. Keep me posted as this is my only and main symptom. I am doing PFD therapy 2x week and had a great 4-5 days but today is a bit rough..GOod Luck

Elavil is the most researched for use with IC. You might want to start at a really low dosage & then work your way up. I found that the side effects at 30mg were really different for me than at 20 mg. (I may now try 25 mg to see if that will be a good level for me)
