I don't know wether to laugh or cry sometimes! My 4 yr. old son has inherited my clumbsyness and self-inflicting pain mishalps.
He hasn't even been awake for more than 5 hours and has already managed to ......
bite his tongue twice while eating, once at breakfast and once at lunch
bite his finger while eating a cookie
choke on his milk
hit his head on the slide from his bed
trip over the dog
hurt his foot while playing with wooden train track
fall off step-stool
run into wall because he can't look where he is going
and...hit mirror doors on bedroom closet with his head
All of these instances never amounted to anything but a few tears. I just hope he can survive another 80 years of life! It'll be a miracle if he can make it through puberty.......

Jen, your post about your little one made me smile! All I could think of was,...Just wait! My son was the same way! Once he reached grade school I was constantly picking him up from the nurse's office. If he was sledding, and there was one tree with-in a quarter mile, he'd be sure to wrap his sled around it! He's now 21, and still a magnet for mishaps. I always make sure I replenish the band-aid stash when he comes home from school for the summer!

Today we are working on how to "focus" and complete a task. With the way his brain works it's no wonder he is all over the place. Poor guy, he'll never be able to walk and chew gum at the same time. :)
:bouncy:
On a more serious note: We went swimming this morning and before I knew what happened, he just jumped into the pool with not a care in the world WITHOUT HIS FLOATIES! I heard his brother yelling "come on, let's go" and then SPLASH. :yikes: I ran as fast as I could to him, he's trying to swim and looking at me from under water with that HELP ME panic across his face. I jumped in, clothes and all, and pulled him out. He was only under for about 3-5 seconds, but that moment is frozen in my mind forever. We had a big talk about safety and waiting for mommy to put floaties on. At the end of the swim we had a beginner lesson without them so that he can be more aware of the difference in the water. Whew. Long day and it's just 2pm.

Thank you Katrina, I do believe he has a guardian angel on his shoulders. :smile fai The thing that always gets me is his attitude and inner strength. He is absolutely fine. Not scared, not upset, no complaining, nothing. La la la la, life is great, life is good.

Oh my dear lord that would had scared me to dealth to but i have been in your shoes i have three children my daughter the middle child has always thought she could do any and everything without getting hurt and she has jumped in the pool/river over her head many times until she learned to swim and she didn't want her floatie on her arms. talk about heartattack for mom's that will sure give you one
I remember one time at the river she was three years old we was all getting out of the truck and she took off running down the boat ramp into the water now i'm the type of person who can't go under water and open her eyes and i have to hold my nose to go under but not that day still fully dressed i ran as hard as i could jumped in the river as she was going down seen her under water and jerked her back up. talk about scared well at first i had no time to be scared but after it was over and we knew she was okay i sit there and cried and cried in a pure jerk.
needless to say she never done it again after that but she did how ever learn to swim and now she is like a fish under water so to speak lol.

Rhonda, I can picture it now. That was exactly how I felt and reacted. It's a heart stopper for sure. Those little guys are so brave with not a care in the world. :)
PS- Did my links work for the pics? I had trouble earlier and got a dead webpage.
