If you go to baltimoresun.com and then register in and look in the August 2 issue there is an article about IC and the work Drs. Warren and Keay are doing with IC. I was so excited to read about it. It talks about the antiproliferative factor and the work they are doing to try to find out why the toxin is carried in our sytems.

Hello everyone! I am glad to see that some doctors are tring to do more research on ic. This one treatment fits all, i.e. installations...just sounds so crazy to me. I still think that ic has a cause..a start somewhere...for everyone. And when that cause is not taken care of right away it rages out of control and makes it harder to fix because of all the damage that happens. I hope someday that ic patients can be treated as individuals instead of a general population with one general treatment and no real cure.
As you all know, I have found my cure. My ic was caused by. i feel, a mast cell invasion into my bladder. I went throught the cysto...which made it worse.....the installations....which made it worse.....until i heard somewhere on this board that antihistamines like zytrec and allerga has helped. So i had springtime allergies so i went to my ear, nose , and throat doctor.... got some zyrtec.....and what do ya know....my bladder symtoms were improved in three days and it two virually pain free months... i was all better!!!!
I am a nurse, i work in intensive care nursrey, and get pulled to peds every once in a while. I see children down there that have severe allergies and food allergies and what it does to thier little systems. So it makes alot of since to me that ic for some can be a allergy of some sort start. I think it makes alot of sense then that diet affects the pain of ic and some foods cause flares. Sounds like a allergy thing to me.
I have been taking through private messaging with a few that are trying my "cure". Kev841 tried allerga. He just emailed me and told me that in three days his symptoms are improved so much....he cant believe something so simple could fix such horrible pain. He said he would post his news soon. So I hope he has found his cure. I don't know if zytrec and allerga can work for everyone, because all of our symptoms and causes are different. And i still feel that all ic patients should be treated more individaully. But for those that want to try a antihistimine therapy. I would go for it. Sending you all healing thoughts. Becky
