I just posted under your other thread. I too have IC and UC. Diagnosed with IC about 10 years ago, but only diagnosed with UC about 2 months ago. I too would be interested to see how other people are dealing.

well i am not going to say its been easy, ic has been nothing compaired to uc. like i said i lost over 50 pounds, and i have went to the bathroom as much as 35 times in one day. its been really hard, but for the past 2 weeks i am doing much better,i aM steroids which i am not to happy about, but also 2 weeks ago they took me off elmiron so i am not sure which is helping. if you have any question just ask. bobbi

It sure isn't easy! I can't find anything to eat that pleases both the IC and UC. I have been on Asacol 400mg (2 tablets, 3 times a day) and it has made a huge difference. In addition I take Elmiron, Atarax, Amitriptyline, Detrol, Urogesic Blue, etc.
Don't need much food after you take all those pills - the appetite is gone! I go to the bathroom numerous times per day also.
I started complaining Feb '03 of pain in my lower left side. I had not had a flare from IC in 9 years, so naturally they thought that was the problem. Numerous procedures later, after ovarian cysts, IBS, IC, Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis - just to name a few - they finally found UC. I really think that caused my pain, nausea, weight loss, fatigue in addition to the swelling pressed the bladder and made the flair.
I wish you the best of luck...
