Well I made the call yesterday, and my application should be in the mail now. I feel like this is my last resort and so afraid of not getting excepted!!! I'm only 18, and live with my parents so I'm afraid they will hold that against me.
I'm home constantly! Have been sick for 5 years, and did most of my schooling at home because of being sick. I also have endo, acid reflux diesease, and possibly IBS, Fibromyglceria (or however you spell that). With this money I am going to try and see if I can move in with my brother and pay for rent. It will be really hard for me to take care of myself, but it beats being here! And several people think with moving out that my emotional state will be so much better, and that will probably help me quite a bit physically.
Anyone have any tips for me to try and get approved??? Is there any other options if I can't get this? I'm far too sick to work!!! I know nothing about Social Securiety and can use all the help I can get. Thank you!!!!

The ICN Handbook has alot of great information. http://www.ic-network.com/handbook/
Please check out this section "NEW! Living with IC - Disability"
I have found that having the support of your doctors (Uro, Primary, Therapists, etc) is very helpful in the process. Remember to keep copies of everything and try to be as consistent as possible in answering questions (they will ask you similar questions over and over). Since you have multiple illnesses and depression, you will have alot of information to convey to Soc Sec.
Please take care of yourself and keep us posted on your progress. :grouphug:

Thanks for the advice!!! My friends Mom is going to be helping me because she and my friend are on disabilty, and has a lot of experience with it. I'll be sure to make copies of everything, and try to get help from my doctors.
I keep on forgetting to look at the IC handbook, just did yesterday, there is a lot of things there. I'll be sure to read up everything on disability. I briefly looked at it yesterday, and have a question. I read something about you have to had worked before to get the disability, is the true? Because I have never had a job before because of being too sick, outside of doing some work for my Dad and babysitting, but I'm sure that doesn't count! Will I not be able to get it becuase I have never worked before? And I was wondering, how long did it take you all to be approved? My friend thinks after a few times I should be able to get it, because I have several problems, the IC, endo, fatigue, and then the depression and anxiety. One more question, then I'll shut up...would it help to get an evaulation from a physcologist about my depression and anxiety, would that help my chance be better any, if I have a evalualtion of physical and emotional problems? Ok I'm off!! Thakns for all the help and support!!

SS does like to think the people who are being paid benefits have contributed to SS, but in some instances they will make allowances, just make sure you have your medical record with documention of your diagnosis', the meds you have been on & for how long, any other treatments you have tried.... not to mention it would help to have letters from your docs stated they feel you are unable to work....
Good luck....
