I think I may have vulvar vestibule...

Ive been reading up on it, and it really describes what i have been experiencing. I had a pap smear on wednesday and taked to my new doctor about the pain i have during intercourse (besides the pain from IC). I have a VERY intense pain during entrance and then a semi constant burning, and even worse burning after sex is done. This pain and the bladder pain has made sex darn near torture, which absolutley breaks my heart. I am very young and in a serious relationship. When i think about the fact that these 2 diseases have ruined my sex life, i get on the verge of depression.

Got off topic a bit- :) Anyways, my dog says I look a little red down there, but besides that, everything looks fine. Would she immidiatley be able to recognize vulvar vestibule?

Hi Breanna,

I was just diagnosed with VV recently as well. I was diagnosed by a Pelvic Floor physiotherapist. I have the exact same symptoms as you.

Physio is definately helping, I would recommend it! She has me using dilators and touch to "desensitize" the tissues around the vaginal opening. She is also doing biofeedback and teaching me how to control the muscles and consciously relax them.

I am also using numbing creams, specifically one called Emla. It can let you have sex without pain. I also use it to help control IC pain. When you put it on the urethra it actually calms down the bladder spasms as well, at least for a little while.
