has anyone heard of diabetes insipidus, or water diabetes? not to be confused with sugar diabetes, which is much more common.. DI is when your body doesn't produce enough anti-diuretic hormone, causing you to be thirsty and pee all the time. anyway, my GP thinks i may have this instead of or in addition to IC. argh!
anyone know anything about this?

Hi Di!

My sister has diabetes insipidus. It has something to do with the shortage or absense of a hormone sent by the pituitary gland. That hormone tells the liver? Kidneys? One of them to hold or send. My sister's pituitary has vanished, somehow. The treatment is simple you take the medicine DDAVP. My sister has a nasal spray she uses and it takes care of the endless thirst/pee cycle.

That's about the basic of it that I know. There is a DI association. I think they have a website. I can check with my sister and repost with it.
