Does anyone else suffer from IBS and IC? Since I have IBS, and IC, the IBS triggers bladder infections. Does anyone else have this problem? Any solutions? Would calming the bladder down with an installation prevent so many bladder infections?

I don't know anything about bladder infections... But I do know that constipation makes my bladder symptoms way worse. So I take Fibercon daily with 8oz distilled water and that has been very helpful.

Hope you feel better soon.

I have not been diagnosed with IBS but I am constipated all the time...I do not get bladder infections but like Kadi it does make my IC/PFD worse!!! I have been taking Muralax (prescription laxative)...it helps me go...but I go right back to being constipated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sometimes it is worse than my bladder pain!!!

My IBS is predominately the big "D". I have found that a fiber supplement with psyllium husk like metmucil (it comes in capsule form now) keeps me right where I need to be. One or 2 a day helps keep the D away and if I start to move to the C then I increase the fiber dose to the instructions on the bottle for use as a fiber laxative. I have been able to go off of my presription IBS med by doing this. I had chronic bladder infections right after my IBS was diagnosed. I never really connected the 2 but now that you mention it I haven't had one infection since getting my IBS under control! Hmmm....

I don't think installations will keep you from getting infections....probably will up your risk. If you think IBS is increasing your risk of infections I would ask doc for meds for that. Good luck feeling better.

:) I know all to well how you feel. My Ibs used to get so bad that I could walk and it put pressure on my bladder. Making me feel horrible everywhere. My Dr. gave me Hysyclomine(that's probally spelled wrong) in a a day I felt as good as knew. This medicine also helps with urgency and frequecy of IC.
During the time my IBS was being treated I did get a lot of UTI. Bad ones. Drink a lot of water and take a fibercon. That's what saves me. Hope this helps.
