Hello all-

I need some help. I have IBS and IC- not a shocker I know. But I am in tremendous pain and I wanted any advice on a diet that I could do to help relieve ANYTHING. The problem is the IBS has now become a trigger(and I mean a hair point trigger) for an IC flare. I am on a constant rollercoaster and they won't let me off. I have gotten some advice, mostly bad. To drink that yoghurt smoothie 5 times a day and nothing else; eat only raw foods, excetera. Needless to say you get the picture.

So if anyone HAS any advice or even new old wives tales please pass along.

Thank you

Laura

I think that I may have IBS, too. My husband and I are both having our allergies tested this month by a specialist. Hopefully it will show some foods on there because I know that it is a trigger for me. BTW, my euro also recommended it.
Hope you feel better soon.

I don't know if what I have is IBS or just medication side effects (really bad constipation with occasional diarrhea).

"Fibercon" daily with 8oz of water has worked best for me. My pharmacist & I stood there reading labels for awhile & it seemed to have the least acidic ingredients compared to other things on the shelf.

"Colace" is another "IC safe" option (uro recommends it, and it never has bothered my IC), but tends to give me the runs (always at exactly the wrong time).

The diarrhea problem went away when I learned I was allergic to almonds & soy & stopped eating those foods.
