I've been feeling more and more like my old self since my last flare the last week of June. I can eat a lot more stuff than before, although I'll still take Prelief, just in case. I can wear my skirts and pants without being in pain. I have been regularly exercising, mostly riding my mountain bike. The bike riding is the only thing that occasionally causes some minor pain, which amazingly I can alleviate with just a heating pad or the Bodi-heat stick on pads--no ibuprofrin necessary!! I have a feeling I wouldn't even experience the occasional discomfort if I didn't ride, but it's too much fun.

I am still cautious about sex and haven't even tried running again, but I'm so grateful for what I can do and how I feel good most of the time.

I hope that I continue to get better and that you all will also find better days ahead. Thank you for all of your support.

That's great to hear. However --- a word of caution --- don't get too careless with trigger foods. I don't want your pain to return.

Warm hugs,
Donna

I agree with Donna... please be careful with those risk foods. I can only do one "acid" a day... but if I do two or three... I'm toast and will feel pain.

Ladies I couldn't agree with you more. I try not to push it with trigger foods more than a 2 or 3 times a week. The balance that has been working for me is to continue to be fairly strict with the diet so that I can be less strict with my exercise. It's just nice to be able to occasionally go out with friends and know that I can stray from the diet that once. Although, I still haven't mixed multiple acid/trigger foods in one day, let alone one meal. (It's not something I'm planning on doing any time soon either.)

I'm glad you are feeling better. In Feb, I had 3 ulcers removed and for awhile I was on top of the world. I have just started to experience some flares but not as bad as before.
