Since I've been hurting so badly and can hardly walk I went to see the dr. Thursday. He put me back out on disability AGAIN, hoping that we can get me under control for a while. I missed the entire month of May fooling w/ my other uro who dx me w/ IC and then told me to come back to see him in 6 mos. What a joke he was! Anyway, I'm hoping we can get my IC calmed down for awhile. I NEED to stop missing work. HR is already ticked w/ me. How are others dealing with missing work????

:yikes:

I was dx with IC Jan 2001. I had chronic microscopic hematuria since about 1998 without the IC diagnosis.

I also have a multitude of other health problems, but my Uro finally put me on perm disability in April of this year. Had to fight with my short term disability
company through work since May 9th of this year. Just found out this past Thursday that my battle with them was finally won!!! I will receive the maximum short term disability benefits (which is 6 months) and will continue to pay me until the end of Sept. They owe me about 2 1/2 months of non-paid disability wages as of right now. I found it impossible to continue to work without the added stress that was put upon me from my employer due to my time being out and always having to play catch up when I was there. I understand from an employer standpoint, however I knew that it was not fair to them, nor fair to me or my health. The stress of dealing with my health issues alone made my condition worse, much less the added stress that was put upon me from my employer.

Have you checked into the FMLA...a lot of larger companies have to hold your job (I believe it's up to 4 months) when an employee is out for health reasons for themselves or for immediate family members. May be something worth checking into!!

Let me know how things go...Good luck to you!!!
