Since the doctor is going to be down there and in there with the scope what kind of instillation should I ask for as the first treatment? I have read about them all but not sure what the general conscensus is on what to try first. Might as well kill several birds with one stone while I'm knocked out.
Thanks! Sandy
You're a bunch of angles.

They usually don't put an instill in with cysto/hydro. When I was first dx they did DMSO as my first instill ( a series of 8) once a month. That helps get the redness out & I found it helped me alot. Heparin instills are more like a bladder coating kind of like elmiron, to help repair & rebuild the bladder. I've done those too. The doc should be able to decide what treatment he wants for you after he has a look at your bladder. I had no pain with my procedure but some do, so ask for a pain pills just in case. Kathi :hi:

I'm being treated with DMSO, but when I have a hydrodistention, I have a continuous irrigation overnight with SoluCortef folowing the procedure, after which I am discharged from the hospital.
