Well, this was a very nice birthday present indeed. The ICN and COB Foundation received a lovely mention as "excellent websites" on IC in the "A Question of Health" column by Dr. Fred Kavalier.

::::as she smiles widely and waves from California:::
And to think, at one time, we were told that noone would use the web for IC information and support! ;)
Our latest stats show that patients and doctors from 96 countries use the ICN. Our newsletter alone goes to patients in 80 countries.

:jumping up and down: yes i do agree now that was a nice birthday present!!!
now that is hard to believe that someone said that no one would use the web for IC. what was that person thinking. without the internet so many of us would be lost.
Thanks Jill !!

I have to agree that this is a wonderful place. Before Jill created it, I was very alone with my IC.
It's my opinion that the ICN is outstanding is the support being offered on a daily basis by everyone who posts here. Any time you give encouragement, or share a diet hint, or just post a response saying you care --- it helps.
I feel proud to have you as friends.
Warm hugs to all of you,
Donna

About 12 years ago, when I started college at MIT... the computer science there was very progressive at the time. I learned about the Web and began using it, but it was, at that time, very small and only available to a few people ... at that point, everyone developing it at MIT and other universities hoped it would take off, but I don't think many people in the general public thought it would turn into this huge, easily available resource it has.
Thank you, Jill, for having the foresight and vision back then to see it for what it really was -- the perfect medium for teaching people about IC!!! :)
I know that when I began to have symptoms, the Web was the first place I turned. The ICN has been so important to me since then!

Bravo! I think that sums it up nicely! :)
I think that is great news Jill, I would have been lost without the ICN and the wonderful support that has helped me deal with IC. Congrats for a wonderful job with the network, it is definitely one of the best, thank you hugs, Iris. :flower:
