discovery seince really grossed me out

I was watching the discovery seince channel last night. It really grossed me out. The topic was about parasites. reseachers were saying that some parasites live in fish and can cause cancer and other diseases. they were saying you can get parasites through the food we eat, the water we drink, when we are walking on ground without shoes etc. They said billions of people all over the world have worms. and they said that certain worms can cause infectious diseases and it can be passed on to your children. some can make a Cyst in your brain and other parts of your body.

Oh i have to agree with you that is gross, but i have heard of that before. But thanks for the reminder that is something we all should be aware of.

Yeah, that stuff can be overwhelming to watch!!:yikes:
I remember in my Microbiology Lab class, we took swabs home and obtained samples from our phones, tooth brushes, counter tops, bed mattresses, etc., and then put them on culture media. OH MY GOSH!! The bacteria we ended up growing from our own homes was horrifying!! But the worst was what we grew from scrapping underneath our nails!!! Unbelievable!!!

I think my labmates and I were all a little obsessive about washing our hands for a while after that experiment!! Heck, I was horrified about the squiggley little organisms actually living on my body. I don't think I want to see the ones living on my food!!!:yikes:
