I just got informed that I have IC. They have been treating me for chronic prostatits for years. I also have IBS and spastic colon. The Donnatal that I take for the IBS flare ups, is supposedly going to help with the IC. Anyone know anything about this?

I am on a med for IBS...an antispasmatic...it helps both bladder spasms and bowl spasms....good deal. That may be what your doctor was talking about. Sorry you have IC but welcome to the ICN family we are happy to have you. We are getting a lot men theese days....I hope that means doctors are improving on their job and not that more people are suffering.
Sorry you are suffering with other chronic illnesses already...I am multi diseased and hate it when I have to add another illness to the list. Luckily I am not alone here and there is a lot of support.

First of all, :welcome: to the IC network.

The donnatal may help relieve your symptoms. I took it once for short time and it did seem to help. I hope it will be an answer for you.

I don't know if Donnatal will help you or not, but I just wanted to welcome you. I hope you are able to find treatments that help both your IBS and IC. I know it's tough... I have both too and when one acts up, the other does too, it seems.
