As mentioned in another post, I wanted to post what my Uro told me about Lortab and IC...

She said that lortab was not good for the bladder and that it did sometimes make the pain worse. I know before I went to the pain clinic, my gyno was prescribing me lortab 10 and it barely took the edge off and I had spasms all the time... but since being on oxycontin, not only does it take care of the pain, but some of the spasms and such i had while on lortab arent there either.. so maybe my Uro is onto something.. maybe there is something in the hydrocodone that effects the bladder in a different way than oxycodone.

Anyone else noticed a difference like this?

Morgan,
I have also seen a marked improvement by starting Oxycontin and using Percocet for breaskthrough pain. You're right about the spasms too...I've noted the very same thing.

I've only taken the Ultram ( which did nothing to help ) and Hydrocodone, so I haven't noticed anything like that.

Thanks for the input... Another note... I can tell a huge difference now but that also might be because the oxycontin stays in the body the whole time whereas hydrocodone does leave the body quicker and doesn't stay at the constant level like the oxy... maybe this is why we can tell a difference. I know I could tell when the lortab wore off and it was much worse. I don't have any downtime with the oxycontin now that I take it every 8 hours. Still curious if anyone else has more to add to this?

i take percoset for breakthrough pain. i used to take vicodin but i built up a tolerance to it so now im taking the percoset. it seems to be helping with the pain while combined with dmso's.
love ya, kim
