I am currently doing biofeedback. I have a biofeedback machine that measures how well I contract and relax the pelvic floor muscle. It is all about relaxing the pelvic floor muscle. I have been doing it for 6 months now and it does help.

It doesn't hurt at all. It is one of the easiest treatments that us ICers can go through.

I hope that this helps.

I have been doing the biofeedback for 6 months now. I was going once a week to my physical therapist and doing it but I also have a home unit that I use. When my IC was bad, I was using my home unit everyday. Now I only use it once a week.

Have you ever done the Kegel excercise? Contracting and relaxing the pelvic floor muscle. Basically that is what you do. You have a small vaginal probe inserted, about the size of a tampon, and it is hooked up to a computer that will show you through graphs, etc. when you contract the pelvic floor and relax it. You may contract for 5 or 10 seconds and relax for the same amount of time depending on what your dr. tells you. PAINLESS!

My IC symptoms were extreme pain, bladder spasms, frequency, and urgency. Now nothing.

I must tell you that I also use a TENS unit and do Yoga when I can to keep my stress level low. Stress is my trigger point when it comes to IC. I had a flare up from stress and my PT started doing pressure points in my pelvic area and it is back under control.

I hope this helps.

No i never done Kegal exercise. I try to do yoga, when i am better. But lately i have been under lots of stress. Now my IC is not in control. I was fine with my Elmrion & dmso treatment before. now look like it it's not working. So my uro want's me to try Biofeedback to keep my IC & stress under control. Hopefully everything work out for me with this treatment.

I do have pfd and went in and had a biofeedback test done on me and have no pelvic muscle control at all.. I have never heard of biofeedback therapy, there is pfd therapy and they help you work your pelvic floor muscels and one of them is the keegles which was very painful for me... The biofeedback test is pretty simple, They have "you" insert a small tampon like instument with a cord into well you know .... then they take the cord and plug it in to a machine kinda of like a laptop pc... and that have you do certain things to test your muscels and determine if you have pfd..
