I have been in a flare for the past few days --- finally decided I really need to see my urologist. This afternoon I telephoned for an appointment --- I was asked if I have pain; I said yes --- and I will see him at 9:00 am tomorrow.
I am sooo thankful I have a caring doctor and staff.

That's great, Donna. I'm glad they were able to get you in so quickly!
As we all know, a good uro makes a huge difference!
Good luck at the uro's tomorrow.

Donna, I'm so sorry you are in a flare, and I hope and pray your flare will be over very soon and you will have a nice long remission.
I'm glad your uro could get you in right away, I hope that you will be able to get meds that will help you be as comfortable as possible during this flare. All our prayers are with you.
Blessings, Lori

I'm glad you do too. They seem to be few & far between. I wish I lived closer so he could be my doctor too. If only we were all so lucky to have caring doctors. We could end a lot of needless suffering with this disease.

Oh Donna Bless your heart i'm so sorry you are flareing but very greatful your doctor is careing enough to get you in so quickly I know even when flareing with a uti its hard to see my doctor it use to be it wasnt hard but it is now.
he has gotten to be so busy and the RN try to take care of everything and don't bother to tell him when I need him at times i found this out but i would never change doctor because I love him Even tho. the rn can be a pain sometimes themselves.
sending you many healing prayers and hugs
Rhonda
I also wish we all lived closer together so we could help each other more.

That is such a wonderful story Donna, thanks for sharing. All uro's offices should be like that.

I did see my doctor this morning and I definitely don't have infection. Only an IC patient would pray for it to be a UTI!!!!!
I am now on the surgery schedule for a hydro on July 28 --- and he gave me enough pain medication to take full time until then. I usually don't take pain meds full time, but will be pretty close to it for the next weeks.
Tonight I feel pretty good, but tired.
Warm hugs,
Donna
Donna, your in my prayers!

I hope your hydro will give you a very nice, long remission. I hope you will feel okay and be pain-free until then, with the help of the pain pills. Don't feel bad taking them, that's what they are for, to help people in pain.
I hope this IC goes away when you have your hydro and never comes back.
Blessings, Lori

Donna, I just have to say, I think you are incredibly strong. You are in the middle of a terrible flare, and yet you come and say something positive, praising your uro and staff. Even when you are in such pain, you can find something to be grateful for. That takes an incredibly strong spirit.
Me, when I'm flaring, all I wanna do is whine.
Blessings, Lori

For Marlana: Some ICers find they get a great deal of relief from hydrodistention --- I'm one of them. In my almost 30 years with IC, I have had the procedure 35 times at intervals of anywhere from six months to almost two years. It has been almost exactly a year since my last one. So far, the hydros are what has given me a life. I have my fingers crossed that #36 will also help.
