Symptom or cause?

After my Urologist said he thinks I might have IC I have scowerd the net and am a little confused? Is incontinence a symptom or a cause of IC?

Incontinence is neither a symptom or a cause of IC. Sometimes people with IC do have some stress incontinence, but the primary symptoms are frequency and pain. It can feel like a constant need to go to the bathroom.
